Hazelhurst CSA – food community

I read about the Hazlehurst Community Supported Agriculture Co-operative (CSA) in a feature in the Sheffield Telegraph in January. The piece explained how Hazlehurst CSA (set up in 2010) is focused on growing veg and fruit for local people, building closer relationships between the community and the production of local seasonal food to help make it more accessible, especially to those who struggle to afford to buy veg, or don’t live near a farm shop or local market. This is all from their 5000 m2 patch of land in the picturesque Moss Valley.

Nibbly Pig 1st Birthday!

It has been one year since I started my blog ‘Nibbly Pig’. It all began as the weather was rubbish one Sunday afternoon and I was a bit bored and wanted an outlet for my food passion. My first article was on making sun-dried tomatoes inspired by a recipe in my Leon cookbook. Looking back the writing style is a bit tentative and not very detailed or expressive. At that point, I had no idea what direction the blog was going to take or what it was that I wanted to say about food. Now 65 + articles on, I feel more confident in what I want to write and the story I want to tell. Hopefully, it is interesting enough to keep people coming back for a read and to comment.
