Our Cow Molly milk and ice-cream are produced at Cliffe House Farm at Dungworth, using milk produced by the farm’s cows. Eddie runs the family farm alongside his Mum, Dad and Brother, and is the master of all things milk. The white stuff produced here is the freshest you will get – from cow to carton on the same day. You can buy the ice-cream and milk at outlets such as Urban Pantry in Crookes, PJ Taste on West Street, Street Food Chef on Arundel Street and at the farm itself. The milk is also used by Tamper coffee, and you will see OCM ice-cream for sale at Sheffield Theatres in the intervals.
Tamper coffee is an independent café located on Westfield Terrace, just minutes from the hustle and bustle of West Street and Division Street.
A few months ago, me and Clare (FeastandGlory) had a conversation about how it would be nice to get together with Sheffield foodies maybe over a drink in a local pub. Fast forward three months on and somehow and rather surreally we have set up Appetite and just run our first event.
Following Christmas, Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday) is the next food related tradition on the calendar that we wholeheartedly embrace as a nation. It is a good thing that we do still mark the occasion with flipping a few pancakes, as it could easily be a one that disappears in this ever busy and sophisticated world we live in.
I like to try new cooking techniques and learn more about making food and so we tried our hand at making our own cheese.
The Sheffield Food Festival 4th-10th July was all about celebrating food, particularly produce that is made by local producers, cafes and restaurants. There were lots of events and activities taking place across the city, more than I was ever going to be able to get to.
The Sheffield Food Festival is taking place between the 4th and 10th of July, and there are lots of exciting activities planned across the city to celebrate all things food related. From promoting local producers-delis, cafes, farms and artisan cooks, championing Sheffield food heroes, to opportunities to get hands on and learn more about food – whether that is trying something new or how to be a bit healthier. All in all there will be plenty of great food to enjoy.
